Recipe Spotlight: Sip, Savour, and Celebrate: Craft Cocktails

Welcome to the heart of our newsletter, where we proudly present our recipe spotlight. This month we have a handpicked selection of favourite craft cocktails. Our team has carefully curated a collection of cocktails that encapsulate the essence of craft mixology. Whether you're an experienced home bartender or a passionate enthusiast, these recipes are designed to inspire and elevate your cocktail experience. So, grab your shakers and glassware, as we toast to the art of crafting extraordinary cocktails. Cheers to a month filled with memorable sips and spirited moments! 1. Berry Velvet Fizz

Technique: muddling, straining

Glass: Coupe

Ingredients:

• 2 oz (60 ml) vodka
• 3/4 oz (15 ml) Chambord liqueur
• 3/4 oz (22 ml) fresh lemon juice
• 3-4 fresh berries (e.g., blackberry or raspberry)
• 1 egg white
• Ice

Garnish:

• Lemon twist
• Fresh berry (same type as muddled)

Instructions:

1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh berries to release the juices.
2. Add the vodka, Chambord liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and egg white to the shaker.
3. Dry shake (shake without ice) vigorously for about 10-15 seconds to emulsify the egg white and create a frothy texture.
4. Add ice to the shaker and shake again until well-chilled.
5. Double strain (using a fine mesh strainer) the cocktail into a chilled martini or coupe glass.

Garnish:

1. Express a lemon twist over the surface of the cocktail to release its citrus oils, then drop it into the drink.
2. Skewer a fresh berry and place it as a garnish on the rim of the glass.

2. Caribbean Cilantro Crush

Technique: Muddling

Glass: Copper Mug

Ingredients:

• 2 oz (60 ml) dark rum
• 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice
• 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup
• 4-5 sprigs of fresh cilantro
• 2 chunks of roasted pineapple
• Fresh cilantro and a pineapple wedge for garnish

Instructions: Muddle cilantro and pineapple in a copper mug. Add rum, lime juice, and simple syrup. Fill the cup with ice. Stir gently, garnish with a fresh cilantro sprig, and a pineapple wedge.

3. Maple Harmony Bourbon Bliss

Technique: Muddling

Glass: Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

• 2 oz (60 ml) bourbon
• 1 oz (15 ml) maple liqueur
• 1 oz (15 ml) fresh orange juice
• 2 dashes of lavender bitters
• burnt orange wheel for garnish and sprig of lavender

Instructions: In an Old Fashioned glass, add bourbon, maple liqueur, orange juice, and bitters. Put one large ice cube and stir gently. Garnish with burnt orange wheel and a small sprig of lavender.

4. Elevated Ember Elixir

Technique: Smoking

Glass: martini

Ingredients:

• 2 oz (60 ml) mezcal
• 3/4 oz (22 ml) pomegranate liqueur
• 3/4 oz (22 ml) fresh lemon juice
• 4-5 Pomegranate seeds for garnish
• Applewood smoke (for smoking)

Instructions: In a mixing glass, combine mezcal, pomegranate liqueur, and lemon juice. Stir with ice until well-chilled. Smoke the martini glass with applewood smoke. Strain into the smoked glass. Garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds.
